PM says "Sexual abuse reduction What Works centre to be open by end of year"

Yesterday Labour MP for Nottingham North, Graham Allen, used a PMQ to get David Cameron to put on record that a Sexual Abuse What Works Centre will be open by end of year. You can watch the video here:


This is the culmination of a 30 year campaign by Graham. Which included asking a PMQ to then Prime Minister, Margaret Thatcher. You can read more on the background to Graham’s campaign here:


He said “Finding the best UK and international programmes and best practise to help the victims and stop perpetrators is long overdue. Such a resource will help pre-empt, not just react to this problem and save future generations the horror of abuse that has wasted and disfigured previous generations. I thank all those MP’s, Ministers and Civil servants and practitioners who have stuck with this campaign, an end result is in sight.”
