Graham Allen MP will attend the Grand opening of the Bulwell Forest Garden on Saturday 8 September at 1.00pm.

Bulwell Forest Garden's family fun day marks the Grand Opening of the garden. Everyone is welcome, providing an opportunity to come and see what is going on and have your say in how the garden develops. There will be Community Planting activities, Wildlife Workshops, games and races for all ages, and a kids zone with Art and Craft stalls, facepainting and Rainbow Stripes providing toddler entertainment!

Graham says:

It is a delight and an honour to be asked to open this great facility, which is the product of a lot of hard work by several members of the community.”

“I am pleased to see that they have taken ‘Healthy Living’ as the focus. Following on from the highly successful Olympics and Paralympics it is a good sign that so many are now seeing sport, exercise and nutrition as vital to our well-being. What better way of combining exercise and nutrition is there than digging to grow your own vegetables?”

“This is exactly the sort of scheme we should all be encouraging. It brings communities together in the right spirit. An event for all ages”

There will be stalls from the Nutrition and Dietetics Team, Decade of Better Health, and NCC's Sports and Leisure team.
